- Fits in my laptop bag
- Allround lens(es) for urban/landscape/portrait pictures
- Camera does well in low light
- Off camera flash
- Inexpensive (!!!) so that I wouldn't be financially destroyed if something breaks or gets lost/stolen
Here it is:
- Canon EOS M with 22mm 2.0 pancake lens (translates to approx 35mm due to the crop sensor, so I have the "normal" focal length with me and can vary from up-close portraits to landscapes)
- Canon Speedlite 90EX (was in a bundle with the camera, can be used as on-camera fill flash or as a master flash if needed)
- Yongnuo RF-603 flash transceiver (syncs at up to 1/250 with the two YN560-III flashes)
- 2x Yongnuo YN560-III flashes (manually adjustable down to 1/128 power and have a strobe function which can be set variably allowing you to take a long exposure with multiple flashes)
- rosco Strobist collection gels
- Canon RC-1 remote shutter release (infrared)
- Gorillapod
- 2x diffuser hoods for the flashes
So: on trips where photography is not the primary goal, this is what I'll have with me. And I'm thinking of carrying it around in my laptop bag pretty much all the time as well so if you run into me and want your picture taken... just ask nicely!
